Vampire Bats are the only species of bat that can walk, jump, and even run. Feeding on sleeping cattle in their native environments of Central and South America, these tiny bloodsuckers spend most of their night crawling around on the backs of cows. Their creepy gallop is thought to be an “only-for-emergencies” kind of speed, as they only run if they fall on the ground. After all, who wants to be trampled by a herd of cows after dinner?
